A slow, comfortable start.

One of my favourite things to do on a weekend morning is to have a slow, comfortable start to the day. Now granted, this doesn’t happen every weekend, but when the schedule allows I love nothing more than sitting down with the HusBeast, a large pot of coffee and a cooked breakfast.

I say breakfast, but really it’s carb-tastic enough to keep us going all day.

This last-minute cameraphone shot was taken after I’d already started munching, as you can see.

This is the breakfast of champions, and it ain’t pretty, though I don’t think that the home version of the greasy spoon fry up should be artfully posed.  This particular combination involved baked beans (laced with Marmite for the B12), two Linda McCartney veggie sausages, three onion rings, a lone potato waffle and a thick slice of homemade bread, toasted. Copious amounts of coffee on the side and a choice of ketchup, HP or Fruity Hp.

We spent the best part of an hour nibbling, sipping and chatting, sitting in pajamas at my detested kitchen table (though that’s another post!) and being suitably nerdy by catching up on the online news instead of reading the papers.

I hope everyone else had a lovely weekend and a great start to VeganMoFo. I’m looking forward to reading all about it!
